Written by Our PhD student, Zaoming Wang, gave an excellent presentation at his PhD viva and successfully defended!! He is the first official PhD from the Furukawa group!! Congratulations!!
On the day of PhD defense, we had so many unexpected troubles (including a car accident on the way to the Katsura campus by an inter-campus university bus) before starting the defense. But Zaoming was quite calm and confident.
As the last lesson, Zaoming learned how to open a bottle of Champagne from Alex and he did very well!!. We are so proud of you, Zaoming!! Congratulations!!
